The Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy, declared by Pope Francis, was a special year of prayer and reflection on God's mercy.A Jubilee is a special year of grace, to celebrate with joy the gift of redemption that God has offered us through Christ. Centered on the theme “Pilgrims of Hope”, this holy year is an invitation to embark on a pilgrimage of hope, so that, “through our witness, hope may reach all those who eagerly seek it”.The Jubilee Year is marked by pilgrimages, plenary indulgences - that is, the forgiveness of sins - and passing through the Holy Doors, opened in Rome for this occasion.2025 is the Jubilee Holy Year, the 2,025th anniversary of the Incarnation of our Lord, an "event of great spiritual, ecclesial, and social significance in the life of the Church." The concept of "Jubilee" has its origins in the Book of Leviticus (chapter 25) as a special year of reconciliation, pilgrimage, and coming home. Pope Francis has designated the 2025 Holy Year as a time to renew ourselves as "Pilgrims of Hope."

The World Apostolate of Fatima(WAF)in collaboration with the Shrine of Fatima, is organizing an international theological-pastoral congress on “The Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary” in Fatima, Portugal, followed by a Pilgrimage to Pontevedra and Santiago de Compostela, Spain, to participate in the centenary of the apparition of Our Lady and the Child Jesus to Sister Lucia, on December 10, 2025.The World Apostolate of Fatima is preparing an international Congress and a pilgrimage to Fatima and Pontevedra from December 5 to 12, 2025.The World Apostolate of Fatima, with its headquarters close to the Shrine of Fatima, organizes and helps with logistics of pilgrimages to Fatima. We offer a special program, completely adjustable to the needs and particular interests of each group, giving the opportunity for learning and deepening the Message of Our Lady entrusted to the three little Shepherds, in a unique and unforgettable manner.Pontevedra and Santiago de Compostela are two important cities in Galicia, Spain, with Pontevedra being a key point on the Portuguese Way of St. James pilgrimage route and Santiago de Compostela being the final destination.

The 54th International Eucharistic Congress will be held in Sydney, Australia in 2028, marking the first time the event will be held in Australia since Melbourne hosted it in 1973.The International Eucharistic Congress is held every four years.“The Congress will fulfill in a moment the vision of the Eucharistic Revival. Together we will encounter the living Jesus Christ, experience renewal, and be sent out 'for the life of the world. '” For the 60,000 in attendance. The congress is expected to be a major gathering of Catholics from around the world, with Archbishop Anthony Fisher of Sydney hoping it will reinvigorate the local Catholic community and ignite spiritual renewal in Australia.The congress centers on the Eucharist as the "source and summit of Christian life" and the "real presence of Christ". He hopes the event will deepen understanding of the Eucharist and inspire a renewed faith in the community.

The International Catholic World Youth Day (WYD) in 2027 will be held in Seoul, South Korea,with the theme "Take courage! I have overcome the world".After two successful international gatherings with young people in Rome in 1984 and 1985, St. John Paul II instituted the annual observance of World Youth Day in December 1985 as an annual gathering of youth and young adults for prayer, worship, and celebration of the Catholic faith.World Youth Day is a global gathering where young people deepen their faith, experience the universality of the Catholic Church.These celebrations both strengthen communities, and, through the use of shared scriptural themes, help prepare the Church for its major international gatherings, the next of which will be the Jubilee of Young People in 2025 and then World Youth Day in Seoul, Korea, in 2027.Pope John Paul II was inspired to establish World Youth Day in 1986 by the church's Youth Jubilee (1984), a special meeting between the pope and young Catholics held at the conclusion of the 1983–84 Year of Jubilee, and by the United Nations International Youth Year (1985).
