Protestantism
The Europeans won small numbers of converts to Anglicanism, Methodism, the Lutheran Church and Catholicism from the native populations. Islam was very strong in the provinces of Punjab, Balochistan and the North West Frontier Province, but small native communities of converts to Christianity were formed. The largest numbers came from resident officers of the British Army and the government.Church of Pakistan, denomination inaugurated in Pakistan in 1970 and comprising former Anglican, Methodist, Scottish Presbyterian, and Lutheran churches and mission bodies. CHRIST CHURCH
Next to the Roman Catholic church, the Church of Pakistan is the largest Christian body in a country that is 97 percent Muslim. Christian missions in what is now Pakistan originated in the 16th century, proselytizing among Hindus, Sikhs, and Muslims.The Church of Christ traces its history back to the original organization that was established by Jesus Christ in the first century AD. That original Church had Jesus Christ as its head and twelve Apostles that had the oversight of the Church organization on the earth.It is a community minded congregation with a global sensitivity. Christ Church exists to "Unite People to God and People to People".
CHURCH OF PAKISTAN
The Church of Pakistan is a Protestant Christian Denomination that was formed in 1970 as a result of a Union between various Protestant Denominations in Pakistan. Church of Pakistan, denomination inaugurated in Pakistan in 1970 and comprising former Anglican, Methodist, Scottish Presbyterian, and Lutheran churches and mission bodies. It is the only church in the world joining Lutherans,Anglicans, Methodists and Presbyterians.The Church of Pakistan is the result of the union of four denominations. Their beginnings can be traced to the work of several Christian missions from the 16th century onwards.
ANGLICAN CHURCH
The Anglican Communion have their historical roots in English Reformation.The church grew out of the work started in the late nineteenth century by the Church Missionary Society, the Oxford Mission to Calcutta and the English Presbyterian Society.The Church of Pakistan is a united Protestant Church founded in 1970 from a union between Anglicans, Presbyterians,United Methodists and Lutherans. USPG has long partnered with the Church of Pakistan on theological education and leadership training. The Anglican Episcopal family comprises millions Christians who are members of 46 different Churches.
UNITED PENTICOSTAL CHURCH
The United Pentecostal Church International is a Oneness Pentecostal denomination headquartered in Weldon Spring, Missouri.The United Pentecostal Church International was formed in 1945 by a merger of the former Pentecostal Church, Inc. and the Pentecostal Assemblies of Jesus Christ.The United Pentecostal Church in Pakistan is a Oneness Pentecostal organization with churches, ministers, and members in all over Pakistan. With roots anchored firmly in the Bible and a vision for ministering to communities in Pakistan.Later, in 1945, the UPCI was formed by the merger of the Pentecostal Church.
LUTHERAN CHURCH
The Pakistani Lutheran Church is a small ethnic congregation that was chartered in 2003 by the LCMS to serve Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs . You will not find a church building so named because the informal evening services are mostly held at the home of Deacon Shakil Nazami.Lutheran churches are part of the Church of Pakistan, a united Protestant church formed in 1970, encompassing Anglican, Presbyterian, United Methodist, and Lutheran denominations.The Lutheran Confessional Church Pakistan (LCCP) aims to make known the love of Christ through word and deed within churches and communities in Pakistan. Lutheran Confessional Church Pakistan is a registered church body in Pakistan,with a mission to make known the love of Christ.
PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
The Presbyterian Church of Pakistan (PCP) was constituted in 1993. It has a long history rooted in the establishment of the Lahore Church Council of the United Church of Pakistan and the Synod of the United Presbyterian Church of Pakistan. Presbyterian mission in the area was started in 1854 by the United Presbyterian Church of North America.Among these are the sovereignty of God, the authority of the scripture, justification by grace through faith and the priesthood of all believers. What they mean is that God is the supreme authority throughout the universe. Presbyterian history is part of the history of Christianity, but the beginning of Presbyterianism as a distinct movement occurred during the 16th century Protestant Reformation.
UNITED PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
The United Presbyterian Church of Pakistan is the second-largest Presbyterian, Reformed denominations and the third-largest Protestant denomination in Pakistan. It was formed in 1968 by churches that split from the United Presbyterian Church of Pakistan.The irrevocable union of the United Presbyterian Church of Pakistan and the Lahore Church Council of the United Church in Pakistan is the expression of their oneness which has resulted in their common witness to be more effective. The said two churches over a century have had a close working relationship.The United Presbyterian Church of North America began its mission in the sub-continent in 1854 with evangelism, medical work and education.
BABTIST CHURCH
The National Baptist Church of Pakistan (NBCP) is an indigenous Church.Ministry serving the Lord in Pakistan since 1990. NBCP is working in three Provinces of Pakistan including Khyber Phakhtoon Khawah, Punjab and Sindh having its head office in Islamabad. NBCP with its holistic approach attempts to address the needs of the community.The National Baptist Church of Pakistan is an indigenous Church Ministry serving the Lord since 1990. At present NBCP has its presence in the Province of Pakistan Punjab and Capital Teritory Islamabad. The Church maintains its headquarters in Islamabad the Capital city of Pakistan. Baptists are members of the Protestant Christian denomination, united by a specific set of religious beliefs.
